The W. G. Rhea Public Library
(located at 400 West Washington)
serves all residents of Henry
County. It is open from 9:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday
and Saturday, and from 9:00 a.m. to
7:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
In addition to the book stock of
50,984 volumes, the library
circulates magazines, videos, and
audio cassettes. A special room is
provided for those interested in
doing genealogical research.
Computer accessibility is available
for those who qualify.
Henry County is one of six
participating counties in the
Reelfoot Regional Library with
headquarters in Martin, Tennessee.
This provides access to thousands of
additional titles. The Reelfoot
Regional Library also operates a van
service serving 15 stations
throughout Henry County.
The W. G. Rhea Public Library has a
very active Friends Group. They
provide some funds for a weekly
pre-school story hour during the
school year, summer reading programs
for school children, and many, many
other library-oriented programs. The
Friends have opened a used book
store in the Library. The store is
open Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m.
- 5:30 p.m. and Saturday - 9:00 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m.
